LGBTQ+ Certification

LGBTE CERTIFICATIONS

LGBTQ+ Business Certification verifies that a business is majority-owned by LGBTQ+ individuals or actively supports the LGBTQ+ community through its policies, practices, and inclusivity efforts. By becoming certified, businesses demonstrate their dedication to diversity and equality, gaining recognition for their commitment to creating a more inclusive marketplace.

The LGBTE certification may be the thing to catapult your business to success. If you are a small business owner, you could be missing out on a lesser-known revenue stream – “set-aside” contracts. State government agencies, along with corporations that do business with the government, are mandated by law or corporate policies to spend approximately 20% of their budget with small disadvantaged companies.

The certification is recognized by: the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Hoboken, New Jersey; Jersey City, New Jersey; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Certified businesses enjoy a range of benefits, including increased visibility through our directory of certified businesses, access to valuable resources such as networking events and mentorship programs, and opportunities to connect with consumers who prioritize supporting diverse enterprises. Certification also aligns businesses with supplier diversity programs, opening doors to partnerships with corporations and government agencies that prioritize diversity in their procurement practices.

Can I Classify as a LGBTE?

Be at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned, operated, managed, and controlled by an LGBTQ person or persons who are either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.

What Do I Need For My LGBTE Certification Application?

Here are a few things that you’ll need:
  • Basic Contact Information:  You’ll need to make sure that you have all of the basic contact information for your business.
  • Other Certifications:  Any other certifications that your business may have is important in determining whether or not your LGBTE certification application will be accepted.
  • Business Profile:  A short profile of what your business does, what services it provides, or what materials it produces is important.
  • Majority Owner Information:
Since the LGBTE certification is based on having a majority of the company owned by one of more individuals with a disability, this is possibly the most important part of the LGBTE certification checklist.
  • Inventory:
You’ll have to discuss what your current inventory levels are in terms of equipment, vehicles, office space, and storage space in your LGBTE certification application. Make sure that you have this information prepped to share.

There are other items on the LGBTE certification checklist that we will be happy to share with you during the application process, and we are available to answer any questions you may have on the specifics of your LGBTE certification application.
